The selected applicants will have to come for admission on 06 - 05 - 2014 at 9:30 a.m. along with the following documents failing which the candidates will not be entertained:

  • All Academic marksheets & Co-curricular documents in original.
  • Admit card of class X for age verification.
  • Certificate for Reserve categories (SC, ST, PH).
  • Baptism certificate for Christian candidates.
  • Admit card of interview in original.
  • 4 recent passport size photographs.
  • The Original Managing Committee Resolution countersigned by D.I./A.D.I.(to be submitted by the deputed teachers)

Students of Universities other than Calcutta University are required to submit Migration Certificate and the students of Calcutta University are required to submit attested photocopy of Registration Certificate to the B.Ed office at the time of admission.

The Deputed teachers must submit the Release Order of the school to the B.Ed office on 02.07.2014 at 12noon failing which they will not be allowed to attend classes on 03.07.2014. It is mandatory for the Deputed teachers to submit the Last Payment Certificate signed by the Headmaster to the B.Ed office on 10.07.2014 by 12 noon.

There may be a third list depending on vacancies. The candidates are requested to enquire about the third list on the college website (www.sxccal.edu) on 11/07/2014 after 5 p.m.

  4. ENGLISH PROFICIENCY FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS

    Foreign students who did not have English as a medium of instruction in school, will have to fulfill the requirement of proficiency in English. These students have to produce a Certificate stating their proficiency in written and spoken English from a recognized institute.

    All foreign students will also be interviewed / required to appear for a written English Language proficiency test prior to their admission.

  5. Hostel

    Hostel accommodation will be available in the newly constructed AJC Bose Road Hostel only for boys this year. Girls' hostel will open next year (2015).

  6. CATEGORIES OF ADMISSIONS
    • CATEGORY I - GENERAL, selected on merit.
    • CATEGORY II - Catholics, and other Christians.
    • CATEGORY III - SC, ST, economically challenged, physically challenged, outstanding sports persons, NCC Cadets and schools administered by the Calcutta Province of the Society of Jesus.
    • CATEGORY IV - Sons and daughters of College Alumni Association members with long standing record of service to College and society.
  7. Students of all categories having the required eligibility will apply online through the website.

  8. Arrangement for students of Category-II & III not having the required marks (60%) to apply:

    These students of Category II & III who do not have the minimum required aggregate marks of 60% for applying, but have 45% in every subject, may meet the Principal / Vice-principal as per the schedule given below, for special permission to apply. Special arrangement is made in the college, for these students of Category II and III.

    Economically challenged students from a poor background may meet the Principal / Vice-principal for consideration.

  9. Category IV:

    College Alumni Association members with long standing record of service to the college & society who seek to get their son/daughter admitted to St. Xavier's College, need to fill in a separate form available with the Principal's office as per the following schedule :

  10. NCC CADETS:
    • NCC cadets of the Army wing only, will have to appear for an interview as per the schedule to be announced later.
    • Cadets who have appeared for "B" certificate examination in 2014 or who have attended national level camps will be given special preference.
    • Cadets who discontinued NCC or completed the course need not apply under this category.
    • Please bring all necessary NCC documents duly attested by the Commanding Officer / Group Commander of the concerned NCC battalion / NCC group.
  11. ADMISSION TO RAGHABPUR CAMPUS :
    From the session 2014-15, St. Xavier's College (Autonomous) is introducing a Rural Campus at Raghabpur, Nepalganj for the rural students of South 24 Parganas.

  • At the time of admission, confirmed allocation is not possible.
  • Some other suitable subject will have to be taken provisionally.
  • Preference will be noted.
  • After completion of admission process a merit list will be prepared, for those candidates who have given preference for JOURNALISM.
  • Allocation will be made according to the merit list, subject to availability of seats.

Admission Qualification for B.Com.

Regulations :
A candidate may be admitted to the B.Com (Honours) course provided he/she has passed the Higher Secondary Examination (plus two course) conducted by West Bengal Council for Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent examination recognized as such by University of Calcutta, subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions :


  • A candidate applying for Honours must have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in the aggregate with 45% marks in each subject appeared at the previous qualifying examination.
  • For applying to B.Com, Maths / Business Maths / Business Eco with Maths* is compulsory in Plus-II level. (*Business Eco with Maths is a single paper applicable for W.Bengal - HS students only).

Choice of Modern Indian Language :

Hindi / Bengali / Alternative English.
(Alternative English will be given only to students not having Hindi or Bengali at the Class-X level.)



Selection Procedure :
Selection is done on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2 examination followed by interview.

  • To join industry, business and non-profit organizations
  • Seek entrepreneurial venture
  • Pursue higher education in management
Timings : 4:00 pm to 8:05 pm

Admission Qualification for B.Com.
  • A candidate may be admitted to the B.B.A. (Honours) course provided he/she has passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2 course conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, or an equivalent examination, recognized as such, by the University of Calcutta, in all the recognized subjects (of full marks not being less than 100) including English and Pure Mathematics/Business Mathematics but excluding Environmental Studies/Environmental Education, subject to the fulfillment of the following other conditions.

  • A candidate must secure a minimum of 45% marks in each paper and a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate of all the papers.

  • For applying to B.B.A, Maths / Business Maths / Business Eco with Maths* is compulsory in Plus-II level. (*Business Eco with Maths is a single paper applicable for W.Bengal - HS students only).

  • No candidate shall be eligible for admission after a lapse of more than three years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination. The year of admission will not be taken into account while calculating 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination.

  • Prospective candidates seeking admission to the course will have to appear for an entrance examination. The entrance examination will comprise of Multiple Choice Questions. The entrance examination will be of one hour duration having 50 marks.

The mode of selection will be on the basis of the following weightage :

  • Qualifying Examination (10+2 course) (WBHS / ISC / CBSE / State Boards etc.) 50%
  • Entrance Examination 50%

A student must have 45% marks in all subjects studied at the 10+2 level, otherwise the application will be rejected.

Students passing the GCE examination of the UK are eligible for admission only if they have passed with 2 ‘A’ Levels and 3 ‘O’ levels. Only subjects passed at A-level can be taken as Major for Honours. Candidates with projected mark sheets are not eligible.

Note : Aggregate is calculated with best 4 subjects at 10+2 level, including the compulsory subjects as indicated in the online application forms.

The following subjects and equivalent subjects must not be included in the best 4 subjects:

  • Rs. 10,000/- for self financing courses B.Sc. (Computer Science), B.Sc. (Mass Comm. & Video Production), B.Sc. (Microbiology), B.B.A., B.M.M, B.Com. [Evening], Integrated M.Sc. (Biotechnology), M.Sc. (Computer Science), M.Sc. (Microbiology).

  • Rs. 5,000/- for all other courses.
Security deposit will be refunded after completion of the course, without interest. A candidate may claim refund of Security Deposit only after completion of the course and on production of the certificate and the original receipt.

Please Note :
  • Home students including SAARC Countries (Bangladesh, Bhutan, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan) will pay the usual fees.
  • Students from Asian countries other than SAARC, will have pay 2 times of the usual fees.
  • All other foreign students will have to pay 3 times of the usual fees.
Fees refund policy:

Refund of fees :
Admission withdrawn within 15 days from the date of admission Admission fee and one month’s fees will be forfeited
Admission withdrawn beyond 15 days till one month from the date of admission Admission fee and three month’s fees will be forfeited
Admission withdrawn after one month All fees will be forfeited except security deposit

Refund of Security Deposit :

General Information


Students may apply for more than one stream / subject.

Each Application is to be made on separate online application forms.

Application fee is to paid separately for each application form.

For each subject there is a separate eligibility criteria and the applications without the eligible marks will be summarily rejected.

After filling up the on-line form, verify all details and submit the form online.

You must take a printout of the Acknowledgement along with the bank payment sheet which will come on the screen on submitting the form.

The Acknowledgement / Admit card must be attested by the principal / head of the last school / college attended.

This sheet, along with the application fee payment slip, must be brought at the time of Interview / Admission Test / Enrolment.

Payment of on-line application fees :

Payment Options (make payment either through online method or to Syndicate Bank)
  • Online Payment : Payment can be made through Debit Card / Credit card / Internet Banking.

    OR


  • Payment to Syndicate Bank:

    Sign the Bank Statement and pay the application fee, to the designated branches of Syndicate Bank, within the specified last date. Produce the Bank Receipt while paying to the bank. The acknowledgement sheet is not required at the time of payment.

    The applications for which the fee is paid to non-designated branches and/or after the last date, will not be registered, even if the Bank accepts the application fee.
The online form will be accepted and registered by the College only after the College receives from the bank the intimation of the payment made by you, please note.
