Foreign students who did not have English as a medium of instruction in school, will have to fulfill the requirement of proficiency in English. These students have to produce a Certificate stating their proficiency in written and spoken English from a recognized institute.
All foreign students will also be interviewed / required to appear for a written English Language proficiency test prior to their admission. - Hostel
Hostel accommodation will be available in the newly constructed AJC Bose Road Hostel only for boys this year. Girls' hostel will open next year (2015).

Arrangement for students of Category-II & III not having the required marks (60%) to apply:
These students of Category II & III who do not have the minimum required aggregate marks of 60% for applying, but have 45% in every subject, may meet the Principal / Vice-principal as per the schedule given below, for special permission to apply. Special arrangement is made in the college, for these students of Category II and III.
Economically challenged students from a poor background may meet the Principal / Vice-principal for consideration.

St. Xavier’s College, offers the three year B.Com. with Honours,
with specialization in one of the following groups :

B.Com. [Morning Session] : 6am - 9:50am : For Boys only
B.Com. [Evening Session] : 4:15pm – 8:05pm : Co-educational - for Boys & girls.
There are separate forms for morning and evening sessions.
In case one wishes to be considered for both the sessions, the candidate must fill up separate forms for each session.
Admission Qualification for B.Com.
Regulations :
A candidate may be admitted to the B.Com (Honours) course provided he/she has passed the Higher Secondary Examination (plus two course) conducted by West Bengal Council for Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent examination recognized as such by University of Calcutta, subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions :
- A candidate applying for Honours must have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in the aggregate with 45% marks in each subject appeared at the previous qualifying examination.
- For applying to B.Com, Maths / Business Maths / Business Eco with Maths* is compulsory in Plus-II level. (*Business Eco with Maths is a single paper applicable for W.Bengal - HS students only).
Choice of Modern Indian Language :

Selection Procedure :
Selection is done on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2 examination followed by interview.
Since its introduction in 2002 under the University of Calcutta, the BBA program has evolved substantially. Today the program offered at St. Xavier’s College is possibly unique given the core values it imparts in terms of Intellectual Depth, Leadership Skills and Social Responsibility. St. Xavier’s approach to management education aims at the holistic formation of future leaders with unmatched professional competence and a strong ethical perspective.
The curriculum is flexible and broad and gives students the opportunity to develop an academic program that is tailored to their ambitions and interests. The college offers specialization in three areas: Financial Management, Marketing Management and Human Resource Management.

Admission Qualification for B.Com.
- A candidate may be admitted to the B.B.A. (Honours) course provided he/she has passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2 course conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, or an equivalent examination, recognized as such, by the University of Calcutta, in all the recognized subjects (of full marks not being less than 100) including English and Pure Mathematics/Business Mathematics but excluding Environmental Studies/Environmental Education, subject to the fulfillment of the following other conditions.
- A candidate must secure a minimum of 45% marks in each paper and a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate of all the papers.
- For applying to B.B.A, Maths / Business Maths / Business Eco with Maths* is compulsory in Plus-II level. (*Business Eco with Maths is a single paper applicable for W.Bengal - HS students only).
- No candidate shall be eligible for admission after a lapse of more than three years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination. The year of admission will not be taken into account while calculating 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination.
- Prospective candidates seeking admission to the course will have to appear for an entrance examination. The entrance examination will comprise of Multiple Choice Questions. The entrance examination will be of one hour duration having 50 marks.
The mode of selection will be on the basis of the following weightage :
- Qualifying Examination (10+2 course) (WBHS / ISC / CBSE / State Boards etc.) 50%
- Entrance Examination 50%
No candidate shall be eligible for admission after a lapse of more than three years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination. The year of admission will not be taken into account while calculating 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination.
For admission to all courses other than Bengali Honours, a student must have studied and passed in English in the +2 level. Admission of students failing in English or not having English will be cancelled.
A student must have 45% marks in all subjects studied at the 10+2 level, otherwise the application will be rejected.
Students passing the GCE examination of the UK are eligible for admission only if they have passed with 2 ‘A’ Levels and 3 ‘O’ levels. Only subjects passed at A-level can be taken as Major for Honours. Candidates with projected mark sheets are not eligible.Note : Aggregate is calculated with best 4 subjects at 10+2 level, including the compulsory subjects as indicated in the online application forms.

General Information
Students may apply for more than one stream / subject.
Each Application is to be made on separate online application forms.
Application fee is to paid separately for each application form.
For each subject there is a separate eligibility criteria and the applications without the eligible marks will be summarily rejected.
After filling up the on-line form, verify all details and submit the form online.
You must take a printout of the Acknowledgement along with the bank payment sheet which will come on the screen on submitting the form.
The Acknowledgement / Admit card must be attested by the principal / head of the last school / college attended.
This sheet, along with the application fee payment slip, must be brought at the time of Interview / Admission Test / Enrolment.
Payment of on-line application fees :
Payment Options (make payment either through online method or to Syndicate Bank)
- Online Payment : Payment can be made through Debit Card / Credit card / Internet Banking.
OR
- Payment to Syndicate Bank:
Sign the Bank Statement and pay the application fee, to the designated branches of Syndicate Bank, within the specified last date. Produce the Bank Receipt while paying to the bank. The acknowledgement sheet is not required at the time of payment.
The applications for which the fee is paid to non-designated branches and/or after the last date, will not be registered, even if the Bank accepts the application fee.
